Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) has launched a call for ideas to improve housing supply for middle-income earners and to help renters transition to full ownership.
The Housing Accelerator Fund would aim to remove municipal-level barriers to ensure faster and more innovative development of further housing supply, while the Rent-to-Own program would aim to make it easier for renters to work towards home ownership, CMHC said.
Ideas can be proposed by municipalities, provinces, territories, Indigenous governments, organizations and communities, private and non-profit housing groups, and the Canadian public.
CMHC is inviting interested contributors to submit their ideas until January 31,
